Sons of Cain
Sons of Cain is a Rogue-Lite, turn based RPG. The setting for the game is loosely based on pre-flood Biblical mythology. Like most rogue-lites, SoC will not be a heavily story driven game other than to provide the player a general goal at the outset of the game.
Story
The protagonist is a member of the Tribe of Cain. They are cursed to wander the wasteland and have all of their crops wither and wilt before them for the sin of their ancestor, the first murderer. Your tribe sustains themselves off of rats and bugs and the occasional charity from the neighboring village of Ableton. One day when you arrive at Ableton to beg for spare food, you are informed that they have no food to give as it was stolen by an odd cult on the outskirts of town. You decide that you will retrieve the food to help save your village. You find the cultists worshiping at a strange alter dedicated to a Watcher in a ruin that they are using as a makeshift shrine. You defeat the cultists, secure the supplies, and desecrate the shrine. Once you arrive home there is a stir among the tribesmen. A single sprout has shot up in the wastes where once nothing could grow. You realize that your destruction of the alter has partially lifted the curse on your people. You decide to embark on a holy crusade to purge the world of the Watchers and their abominable spawn, the Nephalim and lift the curse placed on your people many years ago.
